Call For Action On Darfur

The Appeal of Conscience Foundation notes with great concern and distress the disastrous situation that is presently facing the population of Darfur, Sudan. The Appeal of Conscience Foundation, committed to human rights and religious freedom, calls upon the UN Security Council to act, without delay, and take the necessary action to avoid a great human catastrophe and for member states to provide the resources required to assure security, emergency food and shelter to those afflicted.

The Appeal of Conscience Foundation also demands that the Government of Sudan honor the commitments it made to the Secretary General of the United Nations, Kofi A. Annan, to protect internally displaced people within Darfur and to disarm the Janjaweed and other militias in the region.

‘You shall not stand idly by the blood of your neighbor, i.e. when his life is in danger’. (Leviticus 19:16)
