US State Department Foreign Service Institute Training Program on Religious Life

For 32 years, The Appeal of Conscience Foundation organized the Seminar on Religious Life for the US State Department’s Foreign Service Institute, educating thousands of US diplomats prior to their postings abroad. The curriculum incorporated the historical and present roles of the diverse religious communities and their interfaith cooperation in those countries and the important role foreign officers would serve by engaging with them. Today this critical training has been incorporated in the formal program within the State Department under the direction of the United States Secretary of State.
