The Appeal of Conscience Foundation held its 26th Annual Seminar for the U.S. Department of State Foreign Service Institute on Tuesday, December 12, 2006. The seminar offered Foreign Service Officers valuable insight on issues of international religious freedom prior to their overseas assignments. More than 400 students and faculty participated in the day-long event, highlighted by keynote speaker Congressman Tom Lantos (D-San Mateo/San Francisco).
Ambassador Ruth A. Whiteside, Director, Foreign Institute, hailed the event as a success noting that “This year, the presentations by Ambassadors A. Elizabeth Jones and James Sasser and the Keynote by Congressman Lantos were particular highlights that got to the heart of the challenges faced by diplomats in the field.”
