2 Rabbinical Students chosen in USSR to Study in Seminary in Hungary – leave Moscow via train to Hungary

Students: Haim Levitis (age 23), Adolf Shayevich (age 36), a graduate engineer from Birobijan. After 2 years of study in Hungary, they will return to the USSR. The agreement required the approval of Council on Religious Affairs in the USSR, the Hungarian government and the cooperation of the Central Board of Hungarian Jews, sponsor of the seminary. The two candidates speak some Hebrew and only Russian. Major centers in Kiev, Odessa, and Leningrad are without Rabbis.
