Former president Bill Clinton has asked Rabbi Arthur Schneier to be an Advisory Member of the second Annual Clinton Global Initiative. The Clinton Global Initiative is an effort spearheaded by former president Bill Clinton to stimulate innovative solutions to some of the world’s pressing problems. Rabbi Schneier is a member of the “Mitigating Religious and Ethnic Conflict” group.
The meeting will be held to coincide with the annual UN General Assembly, on Sept 20-22. President Jacques Chirac, UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, Prime Minister Tony Blair, Laura Bush, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and Rupert Murdoch are among those who have already committed to join the Clinton Initiative this year. As an Advisory Member, Rabbi Schneier will provide counsel to the working group chair on the program curriculum, selection of panel speakers and recommendations of actionable deliverables.
