Eleven Soviet Citizens, 9 of them Jews were found guilty of treason in Leningrad for the attempted hijacking of a plane.

Two of the eleven were sentenced to death by a firing squad. After an outcry of international appeals the Soviet Government reduced the sentences to hard labor. ACF appeals to US State Dept, and met with Igor Bubnov, First Secretary of the Soviet Embassy and protested the death sentences and trial proceedings.
