New York Foundation Honors Francois Hollande

Interfaith foundation “The Appeal of Conscience”, based in New York, said Wednesday that French President François Hollande was the winner of the “World Statesman Award” in 2016.

This award “honors the leaders who support peace and freedom, for the promotion of tolerance,human dignity and human rights, defending these causes in their country and working with otherworld leaders to build a better future for all, “said the foundation in a statement.

“President Hollande will be recognized for its leadership in safeguarding democracy andfreedom in a time of terrorist attacks and for his contribution to global stability and security,” thestatement added.

In 2014, the award went to Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto.

The foundation “Appeal of Conscience”, founded in 1965 by Rabbi Arthur Schneier said theorganization “works on behalf of religious freedom and human rights around the world.” TheAppeal will present its “World Statesman Award” to French President September 19, 2016,during its 51st annual dinner at the Waldorf Astoria in New York.
